Chapter Booths

Before the banquet begins, each District will host its own booth filled with games and activities for Arrowmen to enjoy. These booths are a great way to connect, have fun, and experience the creativity of our chapters.

Over the years, they’ve featured exciting and memorable activities that set the tone for an engaging evening.

Guest Speaker

One of the most anticipated parts of the Winter Banquet is our guest speaker. Each year, we invite a distinguished guest to share their experiences, stories, and insights with the Arrowmen. These talks are more than just presentations—they are opportunities to be inspired, to see leadership in action, and to learn lessons that can be carried back into Scouting and everyday life.

The guest speaker brings a unique perspective that connects with the spirit of the Order of the Arrow, reminding us of the impact cheerful service can have on our communities. Many attendees walk away motivated, encouraged, and ready to take on new challenges both in and out of Scouting.

Our guest speaker for 2026 will be retired U.S. Army Colonel Scott Weaver, a former Scouting Professional in Kansas City and former OA Staff Adviser for our Lodge

Recognitions

The Winter Banquet is also a time to honor the achievements and dedication of Arrowmen across our council. Throughout the evening, we will pause to celebrate the individuals and chapters whose service has left a lasting impact on Scouting and the Order of the Arrow.

Highlights include:

  • Council Updates – News and announcements shaping the year ahead.
  • Vigil Honor Recognitions – Honoring Arrowmen who have reached the highest distinction in the Order.
  • Founders Award & Lifetime of Service Award – Recognizing those who embody the spirit of selfless service.
  • Silver Beaver Recipients – Celebrating Arrowmen recognized for exceptional service to youth.
  • Chapter of the Year, Committee of the Year, and Arrowman of the Year – Applauding excellence in leadership, teamwork, and dedication.
  • Change of Command – Passing the torch of leadership as new officers step into their roles.

These recognitions remind us of the incredible service and leadership found within our council, and they inspire all Arrowmen to continue living out the principles of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service.

Food!

No Winter Banquet would be complete without a meal shared among friends. After an evening of activities and fellowship, everyone comes together to enjoy a delicious dinner. More than just satisfying hunger, the meal is a time to connect, celebrate the achievements of the past year, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that make the Order of the Arrow special.
