Lodge Executive Committee (LEC) Meeting Minutes
February 19, 2026, 7:00 p.m.
Heart of America Council Service Center

 

  1. Call to Order
    • The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the Lodge Chief, Jedi.  Just before the meeting he hosted a Trivia Night to boost attendance and excitement.  The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the OA Obligation.  There were 62 member in attendance. 
  2. Old Business
    • Approval of January LEC Minutes
      • The Lodge Secretary, Jacqueline, presented the minutes from last month.
      • Joshua made a motion to approve the minutes.
      • Adrian seconded the motion.
      • Minutes were approved by general consent in a voice vote.
  3. Safety Moment – Troy Johnson, Lodge Adviser
    • Spoke about the need to complete new peer-to-peer training from National.
  4. New Business
    • Lodge Chief – Jedi
      • Spoke about what LEC is and some common acronyms you might hear at OA events.
      • THRIVE: Explained the purpose of THRIVE and why the lodge participates.
    • Vice Chief of Program – Joshua
      • LLD Recap: Reported 63 Arrowmen in attendance.  Highlighted the strong training sessions delivered by the Lodge Officers.  Noted (with pride) that his presentation was the most “artistic.”
      • Identified the current Program Committee Chairmen

    • Vice Chief of Chapters – Adrian
      • CCC Report:  Council of Chapter Chiefs met; included a snack break.  Adrian reminded everyone of the CCC “homework” assigned.
      • Elections Chairman Report:  Daniel noted that a new election script is in development; progress ongoing.
      • Area & Chapter Reports
        1. Iron Horse – Hayden P & Graden M:  First chapter newsletter released.  A new social media account created—encouraged everyone to follow.
        2. Soaring Eagle – Ethan H:  Promoting attendance at NLS.
        3. Kaw – Samantha M:  Chapter outing planned to Union Station to see the Titanic exhibit.
        4. North Star – Daniel B:  OAUR training being organized.
        5. Lone Bear – Mathew T & Jaron H:  Working on a solution for members unable to attend chapter meetings.
        6. Blue Elk – Michael Y:  Planning Top Gold, BBQs, and additional fun events for 2026.
    • Vice Chief of Communications – Jacqueline
      • Lodge Social Media:  Chapters should create accounts if they don’t have them.  Active chapter accounts should follow lodge pages.
      • Event Post Google Form:  “Who/What/Where” form available for submitting content for lodge socials.
      • Communication Reminder:  Spread information digitally and verbally.
      • Historian – Michael Y:  Encouraged everyone to read the newsletter – clicks matter.
    • Vice Chief of Inductions – Luka
      • Committee Status: Reviewed progress and needs.
      • Connections: Encouraged officers to build and use relationships across committees.
      • Spring Brotherhood Day: Registration closes this weekend.
      • Ceremonies – Graden M:  C‑Team meets most Sundays; new members welcome.
    • Vice Chief of Administration – Jackson
      • Membership – Chloe C: Requested all attendees sign in for LEC.
    • Vice Chief of Finance – Alex
      • Introduced Budget Report: Not available. 
      • Budget Readability: Creating a form to learn how members prefer budget information presented.
      • Reimbursement Process: Transitioning to a Google Form to replace paper forms.
  5. Open Floor Discussion
    • Vigil Recognition – Avail W:  Ms. Stacey Yancey was recognized with her Vigil Vest, Certificate, and Card as she was unable to attend the Winter Banquet.
    • Section Business – Avail W
      • Operation Arrow:  Opportunity to attend National Jamboree at a reduced cost as part of the OA service corps.  Participants get to wear the “zesty blue” uniform.
      • Section G6 Conclave:  April 10–12, 2026 at Camp Naish.  The theme is Lord of the Rings.  Patches are in development.q
    • NYLT – Jedi H:  NYLT courses are full for this spring.  Staff positions are still open.  Any interested youth should speak with Jedi, Neveah, or Mrs. Herrera.

    • Final adviser remarks were shared.
  7. Closing
    • The meeting concluded with the OA Song.
